Program to focus on neighborhood cleanup
A program that recruits volunteers to help clean up and improve selected Columbus neighborhoods will be unveiled tonight by Mayor Kristen Brown.
City Council member Dascal Bunch will join Brown in outlining the Mayor’s Neighborhood Cleanup Program during a 6 p.m. forum at Ohio Wesleyan Church, located on Ohio Street one block east of Mapleton Street.
Besides the new program, the mayor also will discuss ideas for revitalizing the State Street corridor.
The first project will take place the first three days of November along McKinley Avenue and Mapleton and State streets. The City Sanitation Department will pick up large items in the area on Nov. 5 and 7 at no charge.
