The Dolly Madison plant on National Road in Columbus is scheduled to permanently close at 6 p.m. today, although union members remain on strike.
Parent company Hostess Brands announced Friday morning that it would close all 33 bakeries, 565 distribution centers and 570 bakery outlet stores throughout the United States, and liquidate the company.
Columbus Police Lt. Matt Myers said Friday afternoon that his department is not anticipating any issues resulting from the closure, but that officers will continue to patrol the property to monitor who is coming and going.
