Food Co-op raising money with Barn Dance at farm
The Columbus Food Co-op is hosting a Barn Dance at 6:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Sellers’ Farm, 13745 W. Mount Healthy Road, Columbus.
The fundraiser will feature chili and corn bread, and brews offered by Columbus’ Power House Brewing Co. Take a relaxing hayride, learn square and contra dancing set to live music by Entwyned and The Banisters or roast s’mores on the bonfire.
Tickets are $30 per person and $50 per couple and may be purchased at Viewpoint Books, 548 Washington St., Columbus, or by contacting SaraBeth Drybread at 343-3588.

Community teen event
set in Mill Race Park
Party SAFE, a program of the Foundation For Youth, is planning a free community teen event to celebrate National Above The Influence Day from noon to 7 p.m.
Oct. 17 near Mill Race Park.
The day will include food, live radio broadcasts, a concert, games and prizes, said Eric Riddle, prevention strategy coordinator.
Mural painting will take place on the People Trail that passes beneath Indianapolis Road, Riddle said. Mayor Kristen Brown will be there to paint the first brushstroke.
Above The Influence was created and implemented by the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. Party SAFE (Substance Abuse Free Entertainment) is a local program that aligns with the principles of the national campaign.
