Spring break will be cut short for Bartholomew County’s two public school districts because of winter storm Hercules.
The state Department of Education will require schools to make up for Wednesday’s snow day, which Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. students will do March 28 and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. students will do March 26.
Flat Rock-Hawcreek Superintendent Kathy Griffey intends to take advantage of a waiver for Tuesday’s cancellation, but students in her district also will attend school Jan. 20 and April 18 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Good Friday — because of previous cancellations.
Bartholomew Consolidated students will receive the full 180 days of instructional time, meaning school will be in session March 26 to 28 and April 18.
Both districts are scheduled to end their school years June 3.
Don't settle for a preview.
