Move over goblins and ghouls, this year’s trick-or-treaters are anything but ordinary.
Unanimously looking forward to the candy, a few Columbus-area kids recently shared their costume plans. Halloween’s getting closer, what will you be?

Costume: Ladybug
Why a ladybug: Because their wings are sparkly.
When did you decide to be a ladybug: 58 years ago.
Jack Johnson
Age: 5
Costume: A bat.
Describe your costume: It has wings and a head, and it’s black.
Why a bat: My brother was one last year.
Avery Smith
Age: 5
Costume: Tooth Fairy
Describe your costume: I’ll have wings and a tooth wand.
When did you decide to be a tooth fairy: At nighttime.
Tyler Ross
Age: 8
Costume: Hawkeye, from the Avengers
Why Hawkeye: He’s a hero with a bow and arrow.
What are you most excited about this Halloween: Trying on my costume and getting candy.
Anthony Johnson
Age: 7
Costume: Corn on the cob
Why corn: It’s sweet and buttery.
When did you decide on your costume: I don’t know, I just thought of it.
