Abby Brinkman 5K event scheduled at Mill Race

The ninth annual Abby Brinkman 5K Run/Walk will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Mill Race Park.

Cost is $25. Registration will be available from 7 to 8 a.m. the day of the race.

Reins to Recovery plans scramble at Hickory Hills

Reins to Recovery

Therapeutic Riding Center

in Seymour will host a

golf scramble at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Hills

in Brownstown.

The tournament is limited to the first 14 teams. Cost is $45 per player and includes a cart and meal, with proceeds benefiting Reins to Recovery Therapeutic Horesback Riding Center, which helps children and adults with disabilities.

Frog Swim Lesson sign-ups are still available for sessions beginning next week and continuing through the Fourth of July Weekend.

of summer basketball camp

The Columbus East Lady Olympians Summer Basketball Camp will be June 9 to 11 at East High School from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for girls entering Grades 3 to 6 and 2:30 to 4 p.m. for girls entering Grades 7 and 8.

Cost is $40 and includes a T-shirt. Players should bring a T-shirt, shorts, socks and a water bottle.

North girls basketball

planning youth camp

Columbus North girls basketball coach Pat McKee, his staff and players and

guest coaches will host the 2014 Columbus North Girls Basketball Youth Camp June 9 to 12 for girls entering Grades 2 to 8.

Sessions for girls entering Grades 5 to 8 will be from 1 to 3 p.m. June 9 to 10, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 11 and 1 to 4 p.m. June 12. Sessions for girls entering Grades 2 to 4 will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. June 9 and 10, 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 11 and 3 to 5 p.m. June 12.

An Indiana Fever player will make a guest appearance June 12. The first 90 players who register will receive a certificate redeemable for admission at a Fever game.

Cost is $60 for Grades 5 to 8 and $55 for Grades 2 to 4. Campers are asked to register by May 29. All players who register will receive complementary admission to the Indiana Junior-Senior All-Star game June 11 at North.

summer league for golfers

Jennings County boys golf coach Gary Yeager is hosting a summer golf league at St. Anne’s for golfers interested in playing for the Jennings County High School or Middle School from June 9 to Aug. 11, excluding the Fourth of July.

The leagues will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for Grades 5 and 6 and for Grades 7 and 8 and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for Grades 9 to 12. Cost is $20, and awards will

be given to the top golfers in each division.

hosting Revolution camp

Columbus East and Columbus North boys coaches Brent Chitty and Jason Speer and their staffs will host the Columbus Revolution Basketball camp June 10 and 12 at North and June 11 and 13 at East for boys entering kindergarten through Grade 7.

Grades K to 2 will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Grades 3 and 4 will be from 10 to 11 a.m., and Grades 5 to 7 will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Registration will take place the first day of camp. Cost is $60, with checks payable to Columbus Revolution Basketball.

Face to Face golf outing

The 16th annual Face

to Face golf outing will be

Otter Creek.

The Kiwanis Club of Westport is sponsoring a bike ride June 14 to raise money for the Youth to Yellowstone Project. There will be rides of 10, 15, 32 and 43 miles beginning at the Westport Community Building.

The Hospice of Decatur/Shelby 20th Annual Decatur Golf Tournament will be at 11 a.m. June 18 at Greensburg Country Club.

The Columbus North High School Volleyball Skills Summer Camp will be June 23 to 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. for girls entering Grades 2 to 5 and

The camp is for all skill levels and will be directed

by high school coaches

IU hosting basketball camps for young players this summer

Indiana University basketball coach Tom Crean will host several camps this summer, beginning with instruction and competition camps for Grades 4 to 12 from June 23 to 26 and June 28 to July 1.

The Little Hoosiers Basketball Academy for Grades K to 3 will have sessions from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 16 to 19 and

July 21 to 23.

The Family Fantasy Weekend will be Aug. 22 to 24. Registration is limited, and is due by July 1.

State 5K championships scheduled for summer

USA Track and Field will host the Indiana Association 5K Championship on Aug. 23 at St. Maria Goretti Church

in Westfield.

There will be championships for youth, open and masters, with $2,000 in prize money awarded for the open and masters winners.
