Ceraland taking signups for baseball, softball

Baseball signups for Ceraland’s AAU-sanctioned Fall Ball League will continue through today. League games start at noon every Saturday beginning this week. Cost is $425 for 8U, 10U and 12U teams and $475 for 14U and high school division teams.

Signups for Ceraland’s girls outdoor fast-pitch softball league will continue through today. League games start at noon every Sunday beginning Aug. 17. Cost is $350 for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and high school division teams.

The Columbus Crush baseball program will host tryouts for its 2015 season from 3 to 5 p.m. today for its 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U teams and from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 17 for its 13U, 14U and 15U squads.

There will be an open field for Bartholomew County girls in Grades 5 to 8 from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and Aug. 19 at the Columbus North softball diamond behind Northside Middle School.

Tipton Lakes to host

Bump and Run Classic

Tipton Lakes Athletic Club will host its fourth annual Bump and Run Classic on Saturday at Harrison Lake Country Club.

The 5K run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $17 for TLAC members or kidscommons annual members, $20 for nonmembers without a shirt, or $25 for nonmembers with

a shirt.

East girls basketball team to conduct car wash

The Columbus East girls basketball team will conduct a car wash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the school’s faculty parking lot.

Tickets are $10 and be purchased from any player or the day of the car wash. The car wash will take place rain or shine.

The Hope Fall Fast-pitch League will begin Aug. 17

Seymour fall softball registration continues

Seymour Parks and Recreation Fall Open Softball League registration will continue through Aug. 18. League play begins Sept. 8

and will feature games on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Gaiser Park and Freeman Field.

Columbus Flag Football accepting registration

Aug. 22 is the first registration deadline for The Fall ’14 Columbus Flag Football League. League officials will be at Fourth Street Bar and Grill from 5 to 8 p.m. that day taking registration, which will be $550 for men’s teams and $350 for women’s teams.

After that, the fees will be $650 for men’s teams and $450 for women’s teams by Aug. 29. The season begins Sept. 7.

Sprint with the Spirit 5K scheduled for Aug. 23

St. Peter’s Lutheran School will host the Sprint with the Spirit 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. Aug. 23.

State 5K championships scheduled for this month

USA Track and Field will host the Indiana Association 5K Championship on Aug. 23 at St. Maria Goretti Church

in Westfield.

There will be championships for youth, open and masters, with $2,000 in prize money awarded for the open and masters winners.

Scholarship softball tourney set for September

The Cole Weddle Scholarship Small Ball Bash will be Sept. 20-21 at Lincoln Park. The men’s tournament will begin at 8 a.m., and the coed tourney will start at noon.

Cost is $150 per team. Three games are guaranteed.

Fall event to feature golf, ATV and motorcycle rides

The Harmon Group’s Joy of Giving Fall Event will be Sept. 20 with a golf tournament and ATV and motorcycle rides.

The golf tournament will be at noon at St. Anne’s. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Cost is $500 per team.

The ATV ride will be from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning at Sand Creek Elementary. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Cost is $30 for a single rider or $50 for a couple.

The motorcycle ride will be from noon to 4 p.m. beginning at Mann’s Harley-Davidson

in Edinburgh.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Cost is $30 for a single rider or $50 for a couple.

The events will conclude with a dinner at 5 p.m. at St. Anne’s. Cost for dinner only

is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for children

2 and younger.
