Swim Club will conduct no-cut tryouts/evaluations
Donner Swim Club will conduct no-cut tryouts/evaluations for new swimmers and Donner swimmers who wish to move up to the next team from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Columbus North’s Chick Newell Natatorium.
Swimmers should show up ready to swim with a suit, goggles and towel anytime during the tryout/evaluation period. The session will take about 20 minutes.

Bowling center to conduct
Junior League sign-ups
Columbus Bowling Center will conduct Junior Bowling League sign-ups from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The league will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 6 and is open to ages 4 to 20. There will be three age divisions.

Columbus Flag Football
Friday is the first registration deadline for the Fall ’14 Columbus Flag Football League. League officials will be at Fourth Street Bar and Grill from 5 to 8 p.m. that day taking registration, which will be $550 for men’s teams and $350 for women’s teams.
After that, the fees will be $650 for men’s teams and $450 for women’s teams by Aug. 29. The season begins Sept. 7.

Seymour fall softball registration continues
Seymour Parks and Recreation Fall Open Softball League registration will continue through Monday. League play begins Sept. 8 and will feature games Monday and Wednesday evenings at Gaiser Park and Freeman Field.

The Seymour Bats will host tryouts for the 2015 10U baseball team from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kasting Park in Seymour and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Shields Park in Seymour.

Sprint with the Spirit 5K scheduled for Saturday
St. Peter’s Lutheran
School will host the Sprint with the Spirit 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Registration is $20 with a T-shirt or $15 without a T-shirt by Saturday, or $25 with a T-shirt or $20 without a T-shirt after Saturday and is available at signmeup.com/100573.
State 5K championships scheduled for this week
USA Track and Field will host the Indiana Association 5K Championship on Saturday at St. Maria Goretti Church
There will be championships for youth, open and masters, with $2,000 in prize money awarded for the open and masters winners.

The Columbus Crush Baseball tryouts that were postponed Aug. 10 have been rescheduled for Aug. 24 at the same time and location.

Columbus Lacrosse Club
to host pickup sessions
The Columbus Lacrosse Club will host Fall Drop-In Lacrosse pickup sessions
from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday in September for boys and girls in Grade 5 through high school.
Players should meet in the grassy area at Donner Park between the pool and Chestnut Street. There is no charge,
and lacrosse equipment will be provided.
Scholarship softball tourney set for September
The Cole Weddle Scholarship Small Ball Bash will be Sept. 20-21 at Lincoln Park. The men’s tournament will begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 20, and the coed tourney will start at noon Sept. 21.
Cost is $150 per team. Three games are guaranteed.

Fall event to feature golf, ATV and motorcycle rides
The Harmon Group’s Joy of Giving Fall Event will be Sept. 20 with a golf tournament and ATV and motorcycle rides.
The golf tournament will be at noon at St. Anne’s. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Cost is $500 per team.
The ATV ride will be from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning at Sand Creek Elementary. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Cost is $30 for a single rider or $50 for a couple.
The motorcycle ride
will be from noon to 4 p.m. beginning at Mann’s Harley-Davidson in Edinburgh. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Cost is $30 for a single rider or $50 for a couple.
The events will conclude with a dinner at 5 p.m. at St. Anne’s. Cost for dinner only
is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for children
2 and younger.
