COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police are searching for two people of interest after a man was attacked in his apartment and the intruders fired at least five warning shots.

Police were called to the lower apartment at 803 Werner Ave. at 5:30 a.m. today, Columbus Police Department spokesman Lt. Matt Myers said.

A 19-year-old man told police he was staying at the apartment with his sister. He told police he was getting ready for work when he saw a car drive around the house and two men get out and walk to the back door. The man told police that when he opened the door, one of the two men hit him on the head with a pistol, Myers said.

Police have not identifed publicly the names of the men they are seeking.
