Man going door to door in North Vernon under suspicion

Follow The Republic:

NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A man who befriends women in the North Vernon area as a way to get money is being sought by police.

Numerous complaints have been made concerning a white man in his 40s who has been going door to door and offering to perform residential services and odd jobs, said officer Justin Black, spokesman for North Vernon police.

The man is described as 5-foot, 10-inches tall, about 170 pounds and bald, Black said. It's suspected he does not have the necessary city-issued permit for door-to-door solicitation.

The North Vernon Police Department is urging Jennings County residents to keep in contact with elderly relatives and neighbors and asks anyone with information to call 346-1466.
