Many Hope residents without water because of broken line

Follow The Republic:

HOPE, Ind. — A water line break has left virtually the entire town of Hope without water.

The break on Maple Street occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. today, said Hope Police spokesman Rick Everroad.

Everroad said he has been told by Hope Utilities officials that the water service should be restored to all customers no later than 10 p.m. today.

He added the police station was flooded with phone calls from all over the town within minutes. Efforts by The Republic to contact Hope Utilities were unsuccessful, due to the high volume of phone calls they have been receiving.
