COLUMBUS, Ind. — What began as a minor theft witnessed outside a convenience store early today ended in the arrest of a Columbus man on drug charges.
Charles Bryant, 41, was arrested on charges of theft, illegal possession of a syringe and possession of drug precursors, all Class D felonies. Bryant, of 1023 Ninth St., also is charged with possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
It started about 2 a.m. today after a local resident outside the Circle K store at 1644 Central Ave. saw someone cut the hose off one of the air-filling stations and conceal it in a bag attached to a bicycle, Columbus Police Department spokesman patrolman Ben Quesenbery said.
