Amanda Moore, who led Seymour to 65 wins over the past four seasons, has been selected to this year’s Indiana All-Star girls basketball team.
Moore led the Owls with 23.4 points and 2.5 steals a game this season. She also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists and shot 45.4 percent from the field, including 34.0 percent from 3-point range, and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line.
In January, Moore became Jackson County’s all-time leading scorer.
Seymour went 65-22 during Moore’s four years, including 17-5 this season. The Owls fell to New Albany in the semifinals of the Seymour Sectional.
Moore becomes the school’s fifth girl to make the All-Star squad. Julie VonDielingen, Teri Moren, Erika McCoy and Amber Holle also were selected.
Miss Basketball Jessica Rupright of Norwell will lead the Indiana team that will face Kentucky June 8 in Louisville and June 9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The rest of the team consists of North Central’s Rachael Gregory and Nariah Taylor, Brionna Barnett of Elkhart Memorial, Jessica Brown of Mt. Vernon (Fortville), Kasey Johnson of Plainfield, CoCo Moore of Lawrence North, Alex Morton of Penn, Jocelyn Mousty of Eastern (Pekin), Raveen Murray of Merrillville, Lakin Roland of Jeffersonville and Akilah Sims of Fort Wayne Snider.
