EDINBURGH — Rhode Island National Guardsman Shawn Fortin is only about an hour away from where his beloved New England Patriots will play in the Super Bowl but can’t go to Indianapolis to enjoy any of the festivities.

Fortin has a busy training schedule at Camp Atterbury, as he prepares to head to Afghanistan in less than a month with other soldiers in his unit, the 143rd Infantry Regiment.

On Thursday, some of the celebrities and merriment of the Super Bowl Village in downtown Indianapolis came to him.
