COLUMBUS, Ind. — The names of the two Columbus residents who died in an auto accident Sunday in Shelby County are not being released publicly until family members have been notified, police said.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Department is having trouble contacting the family of the 28-year-old Columbus man, who was driving the 1997 Ford Thunderbird that struck a 1995 Cadillac at the intersection of State Roads 252 and 9, a mile north of the Bartholomew-Shelby County line, said Maj. David Tilford, chief deputy of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. The passenger, a 35-year-old Columbus woman, also died.
