The Columbus North Bull Dogs’ home football game Friday appears secure.
An inspection of newly built bleachers at North High School’s Max Andress Field revealed four steps need to be lowered by one-eighth inch before the field can host a Friday home game, said John Green, North assistant principal.
Workers with Southern Bleacher Co., of Graham, Texas, were correcting the minor problem Wednesday afternoon in anticipation of a follow-up inspection this morning, he said.
“That’s all they found,” Green said. “We’ll get approval tomorrow.”
Southern Bleacher replaced the home-side bleachers as part of a $23.5 million renovation project that is affecting 14 of the district’s 18 schools.
The Columbus North Bull Dogs are scheduled to take the field at 7 p.m. Friday against the visiting Plainfield Quakers.
