OSGOOD — The Hauser girls basketball team was within two points of Class A No. 8 Jac-Cen-Del with a minute left in the first half Monday night, but the Eagles pulled away for a 52-32 win.
Jac-Cen-Del (4-1) scored the final four points of the first half, then outscored the Jets (3-3) 24-10 in the second half.
“They came out and made far better adjustments than I did in the second half,” Hauser coach Brad Hamilton said.
Ellie Trotter led the Jets with 12 points, while Abbey Ashbrook added 11. Hauser played without last year’s leading scorer, Paige Miller, who suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s win at Greensburg.
“When you lose a player like that, even when other kids had been playing, you need a practice to get things adjusted,” Hamilton said.
“You could tell that we definitely weren’t playing at the same pace. Saturday, we were clearly the aggressor, and tonight, we were more tentative.”
Don't settle for a preview.
