COLUMBUS, Ind. — Emily Chodan can understand why some parents might initially wince more than laugh at the surface premise of the comic production of "Personal Effects."
The Columbus North senior realizes that the idea of a teen guy planning a blowout party with many girls at his home in his family's absence could be as unsettling as an irritable in-law visiting for a month.
So it goes in the early stages of the one-act show, paired with another single-act comedy, "Present Tense," to be presented Friday through Sunday by the Columbus North High School Theater Department at Judson Erne Auditorium, 1400 25th St. While each coming-of-age show spotlights plenty of humor, each wraps with a serious note about life and love.
