The Fourth Street construction that divides neighborhood and opinion, also brings people together. There are construction workers putting in their hours, pedestrians and shopkeepers counting the minutes they’re delayed or detoured, and there are wandering passersby, fascinated by it all. The din of big engines and the clanking, grinding and crunching of subduing and shaping dirt, stone and steel.
