For the second night in a row, Seymour’s Paxton DeHaven went under par to win medalist honors against a Columbus team.
But just as 17th-ranked Columbus North did on Tuesday, No. 15 Columbus East had better depth Wednesday in picking up a 167-197 golf victory against the Owls at Otter Creek.
Caroline Smith led the Olympians with a 39. Rebecca Smith carded a 41, while Maggie Frazier added a 42, Megan Hashimoto shot 45, Abby Frazier had a 46, Kaitlyn King finished with a 53 and Nicole Bodi had a 54.
The 167 was East’s best nine-hole score of year.
“Especially on a hot, windy day, that’s pretty good,” East coach Troy Buntin said. “Megan Hashimoto really stepped up tonight, which is cool. Maggie Frazier has really been solid. Caroline is kind of her usual, and Rebecca played better than she has her last few times out.”
DeHaven fired a 2-under 34 to lead Seymour.
