EDINBURGH — Three Edinburgh adults and a 17-year-old have been arrested in the town’s second meth-lab case in three days.
Edinburgh Police Department officers made the arrests after serving a search warrant at 2:15 p.m. Monday at the home of William R. Karnes, 38, at 911 S. Main St., according to Police Chief David Mann.
Mann said the arrests are part of an investigation spanning several months. Arrests also were made Saturday at an apartment on Main Cross Street.
Arrested Monday were:
- Karnes, accused of the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors or an illegal drug lab. He was arrested in Johnson County, away from the home. He is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $95,000 bond.
- Ladonna Marie Jones, 23, 911 S. Main St., Edinburgh, accused of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. She is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail on $15,000 bond.
- Cherl Lee Burton, 29, 106½ E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, accused of possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe. She is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond at the Bartholomew County Jail.
The juvenile was taken to the Bartholomew County Youth Detention Center.
Police found containers of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and various products used to make meth, according to Mann.
As of Wednesday afternoon, formal charges had not yet been filed by the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s office.
