A Commiskey man wanted on several warrants issued from Jennings Circuit Court was arrested Thursday hiding in the basement of an Austin home where officers used a stun gun to subdue him.
Roger Lee Brooks, 32, was wanted on a parole violation by the Indiana Department of Correction and warrants for resisting law enforcement, a Class D felony; two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Class D felonies; three counts of unlawful possession of a legend drug, Class D felonies; criminal recklessness, Class A misdemeanor; burglary, a Class C felony; theft, a Class D felony; and receiving stolen property, a Class D felony.
He is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on a $1,055 bond.
Also arrested with Brooks was Jerrilee D. Atkins, 27, of Seymour on a warrant for conversion, a Class A misdemeanor. She is being held on a $1,155 bond in the Jennings County Jail.
Maj. Jerry Shepherd and Lt. Brian Talkington of the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department worked with the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in searching for Brooks and Atkins.
The officers received a tip that Brooks and Atkins were at a home on Boatman Road in Austin, where they were arrested.
