Police car involved in accident at 17th and Union streets

Follow The Republic:

A Columbus Police officer was not injured in a two-vehicle crash at about 2 p.m. at 17th and Union streets today, according to Sgt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.

Officer Rusty Imlay was driving westbound on 17th Street when a northbound vehicle on Union Street collided with the police car, Harris said.

The driver of the car, 82-year-old Charlotte Clapp, believed to be of Columbus, disregarded a stop sign and hit the police car, Harris said.

Clapp complained of chest pain at the scene and was checked over, but not transported to the hospital, Harris said.
