COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Police Department detectives have located the gun used in a shooting that left one man wounded and resulted in the arrest of a Columbus man.

Jimmie Dewayne Hair Jr., 26, was arrested Tuesday on a preliminary charge of attempted murder in connection with Monday night's shooting that injured a resident at 1228 Eighth St.

Hair, of 1126 California St., is accused of shooting a 20-year-old man in the neck about 9:05 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Matt Myers, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

CPD detectives have located a gun that they believe was used in the shooting, Myers said. The firearm was not located in the area of the shooting. Tips were key in helping police locate the gun, he added.
