Police find no evidence of 'shots fired' at FairOaks Mall

Follow The Republic:

A report of "shots fired" near the FairOaks Mall was determined to be unfounded, Columbus police said this morning.

Columbus police officers sent to the area have not found any evidence that any shots were fired, Lt. Matt Myers, Columbus Police Department spokesman, said.

People in the area reported hearing multiple sounds of possible gun shots, but no one reported seeing anything unusual.

Police are releasing information on the incident because of a large number of calls to police about it, Myers said.
