Police increasing patrols for drunken driving

Follow The Republic:

The Columbus Police Department is taking part in a statewide crackdown on drunken driving and non-use of seatbelts.

The program, “Safe Family Travel,” lasts through Dec. 2.

It is an annual enforcement effort that combines high-visibility seatbelt and impaired driving patrols and is conducted by more than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies that receive federal highway safety funding from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
