COLUMBUS, Ind. — Police are investigating another report of a man driving a pickup truck in a Columbus neighborhood and talking to children.

A resident in the 4500 block of Juniper Court reported at 9 p.m. Sunday that children in the area had said they had seen a man driving a black pickup truck and trying to speak with them.

Police spoke to children, but none of them said they saw the truck or talked to a man. The resident said children had told him that the truck was a full-sized black Dodge vehicle.

Another man in the area said he checked the neighborhood after hearing the report on his police scanner and saw a black Dodge or Chevrolet pickup truck.

Lt. Matt Myers, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, said police do not know if Sunday's incident is related to an incident on Thursday in which a man attempted to lure a 7-year-old boy into his truck in the Tipton Lakes area.

The vehicle in Thursday's incident was described as an older model black truck with a regular-size cab and a black trash bag covering the truck's license plate.

Investigators received some new leads in Sunday's incident, Myers said.

"We can't say this is the same guy or the same truck," Myers said. "We still need to be on alert, and people should pay extra close attention and talk to their kids."
