COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus Police Department is looking for Brandyn R. Thirkield, who police have identified as a “person of interest” in Tuesday’s shooting in the 2300 block of Sims Court, according to a police media release.
Police believe that Thirkield may have been at the scene of the shooting and may have been injured, and in need of medical attention. Thirkield is 5-foot-9, 145 pounds and is believed to be a resident of Indianapolis.
Anyone who has any information about Thirkield can call Detective Sgt. Tom Foust of the Columbus Police Department at 812-376-2641. Callers can remain anonymous.
COLUMBUS, Ind. — An attempted armed robbery at a Columbus apartment complex resulted in a physical struggle, three people shot and the suspect severely beaten, police said.
Police are searching for a tall, thin black male, possibly age 20 to 30, with short hair and scruffy facial hair, wearing black pants and a tan shirt, said Lt. Matt Myers, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department. The suspect suffered injuries to his head and face that require medical attention, he added.
The incident occurred about 5 p.m. Tuesday at 2320 Sims Court, Myers said. The shooting victims, males ages 20, 19 and 14, suffered non-life threatening wounds, he added.
