Police warn of credit card scam

Follow The Republic:

Columbus Police are warning of a telephone scam in which the caller attempts to get whoever answers the phone to reveal credit card information.

Lt. Matt Myers warned that if anyone calls your phone and says your credit card has been locked, hang up the phone because it's a scam.

Don't follow any instructions that the caller might give, Myers said. If you are concerned about your credit card, there should be a toll-free number on the back of your card for customer service and Myers advises to call that and check on the status of your card.
