Printmaker's work featured at exhibit

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Museum of Art and Design will feature the exhibit “All Things Great and Small” by Bloomington printmaker Elizabeth Busey through March 31 at Hotel Indigo.

A Meet the Artist reception is planned for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the hotel, 400 Brown St.

Busey uses the reduction method of relief printmaking, carving only one block at a time and removing sections for each new color.

She uses many layers of color and intricate textures to create the illusion of depth in two-dimensional work.

Her prints are created using thick, western-style cotton paper on an etching press made out of recycled steel.
