Purdue Extension office to begin diabetes series

The Purdue Extension office will offer a program for persons with or at risk for diabetes and their families from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 22 and 29 and Feb. 5 and 12 at Faith Ministries 5103 West State Road 46.

“Dining with Diabetes” will be presented by Harriet Armstrong, health and human sciences educator with Purdue Extension of Bartholomew County.

Classes include:

What is Diabetes?: Snacks

Carbohydrates and Sweeteners : Special Occasions and Desserts

Fats and Sodium: Main Dishes

Putting It All Together: Side Dishes

Participants are expected to attend all four sessions.

Cost is $20 per person; $30 for couples (who share the same book) and includes materials and food.

Partial scholarships are available through Faith Ministries.

Reservations are due by Friday.
