A rash of thefts from vehicles this week has prompted Columbus Police to seek the public’s help in apprehending those responsible for the crimes.
Windows were broken in order to gain entry in most cases, according to police spokesman Lt. Matt Myers. He added that stereo equipment, purses and other valuables have been taken.
Myers said most of the thefts occurred during daylight hours in different locations throughout the city. He said the majority of missing items taken were left in the passenger compartments and easily seen by those walking past the vehicles.
