The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Columbus officially will kick off fundraising efforts with a rally at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Foundation for Youth.
Although the event is five months away, scheduled for 6 p.m. May 30 at Columbus East High School, volunteers and participants are encouraged to get involved now.
The rally will be an informational celebration of the society’s signature event, which is dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds to fight cancer. Teams of family, friends and co-workers camp out overnight, taking turns walking the track. The Survivors Lap, Luminaria Ceremony and Fight Back Ceremony give participants a chance to celebrate, remember and take action.
For more information on how to get involved or about the kickoff rally, contact Kathy Toburen at 812-350-3273 or email Katharine.Toburen@cancer.org. Donations for the event may be made at relayforlife.org.
Don't settle for a preview.
