Follow The Republic:

Police are urging drivers traveling on roads in southern Indiana to use caution becuase snow and ice are making roadways slick and hazardous.

Motorists should avoid unnecessary travel, police said. The slick road conditions are mainly in Scott and Washington Counties, according to the Indiana State Police. However, Jennings County roads also are slick from snow, Republic Photo Editor Joe Harpring reported, on his way to an assignment.

Weather and road conditions can be checked on the Indiana Department of Transportation website "Traffic Wise" at www.TrafficWise.in.gov.
