SEYMOUR — The next time you have surgery, a large, four-armed robot could be among the instruments the surgeon uses to remove your appendix or to repair your colon.

Since August, Schneck Medical Center in Seymour has been using a robotic surgical system for a variety of minimally invasive surgeries. For patients, the device means less pain, shorter hospital stays and better outcomes overall, according to Schneck surgeons. At the same time, the robot affords greater precision for surgeons while causing less fatigue.
