Rock band to headline fire department fundraiser

The band 40 Years of College will perform classic rock tunes at Beyond the Brunch IX, a fundraiser for the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Harrison Lake Country Club. It will include a buffet dinner, concert, dance and silent auction.

Township residents, sports teams, local businesses and regional artists have donated auction items.

All proceeds from this event will offset the costs of equipment, firefighter training and department operations. The fire company was dispatched 224 times in 2011.

Tickets cost $45 each in advance or $50 the day of the event and are available through the Columbus Area Arts Council, 300 Washington St., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, by calling 376-2539 or at artsincolumbus.org.

Other ticket outlets include Folger’s Four Seasons Florist, Viewpoint Books and the fire company board members.
