COLUMBUS, Ind. — Samuel E. Sallee, 56, has been charged with the killings of four people in a Waynesville home on Mother's Day weekend.

Sallee, identified six months ago as the prime and only suspect in the case, was charged Friday with murder in the deaths of Katheryn Burton, her companion Thomas W. Smith, and two friends, Shawn L. Burton and Aaron T. Cross.

All four victims sustained gunshot wounds, and Katheryn Burton also suffered knife wounds.

The victims were found in the home that Katheryn Burton and Thomas Smith shared at 2634 E. Main Cross St. in Waynesville. They were discovered the late evening of May 11 by Daniel Burton, son of Katheryn Burton, when he returned home from work.
