A Columbus same-sex couple vowed to stay at the Bartholomew County Courthouse today until they receive a marriage license after being refused this morning at the county clerk's office.

County Clerk Tami Hines has not commented today about whether she will begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Richard Young overturned Indiana's ban on same-sex marriage on Wednesday.
Hines said Wednesday she was waiting for instructions from state Attorney General Greg Zoeller before issuing any licenses to same-sex couples.
In the meantime, the Pride Alliance of Columbus called for a rally at the courthouse over lunch protesting the denials of marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
