Police arrested two people on methamphetamine charges following a traffic stop near Amity on Tuesday.
Jeremy Lee Jewell, 31, 206 N. Main St., Edinburgh, and Jennifer Marie Wilson, 40, 2622 Griffa Ave., Columbus, were arrested on charges of aiding the manufacture of methamphetamine and possession of two or more precursors, according to an Indiana State Police press release.
A trooper stopped their vehicle on U.S. 31 near State Road 252 at 4:05 p.m. Police searched the car with a police dog and found methamphetamine and substances used to make methamphetamine, according to a state police.
Police do not believe the couple were making methamphetamine in the car.
Jewell and Wilson were taken to the Johnson County jail and were held on a bond of $6,000 each.
The Johnson County prosecutor will decide what, if any, charges to file.
