Shooting suspect still sought by police

SEYMOUR — An Indianapolis man who allegedly exchanged gunfire with a state trooper Monday night in Seymour remains at large.

Police say John Michael Fish, 35, shot at a trooper who returned fire about 7:30 p.m. Monday along North Sandy Creek Drive near Tipton Street.

Fish should be considered armed and dangerous, said Sgt. Noel Houze, spokesman for the Indiana State Police.

The trooper involved in the incident, who has not been identified, was not injured. Houze said there was no evidence found that indicated Fish had been shot either.

Police say Monday’s incident started when the trooper tried to stop Fish’s pickup, which was southbound on Interstate 65.
