COLUMBUS, Ind. — A fire in a small vehicle trailer Tuesday caused about $2,000 in damage to a house just north of 25th Street.

Columbus firefighters responded to a report of a "pull-behind trailer" on fire around 3:43 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Forest Drive, but the fire was out when they arrived.

Matt Noblitt, spokesman for the Columbus Fire Department, said a neighbor smelled smoke and pulled the trailer away from the house, putting the fire out with a garden hose.

The fire melted vinyl siding on the house. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is undetermined, Noblitt said.
