Snappy Tomato facing possible eviction from Commons for unpaid rent, utilities

Follow The Republic:

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The owner of Snappy Tomato, a pizza restaurant, has been told to pay $27,238 in back rent, utilities and penalties or face eviction from The Commons in downtown Columbus.

The owner, Larken & Co. LLC, has not paid rent or utilities in 12 months, Stan Gamso, attorney for the Columbus Redevelopment Commission, said today at the commission's meeting. Gamso said city officials just realized that the payments had not been made and a certified letter notified the company that it was in default of its lease.

The letter gave the company until Jan. 8 to pay the balance. The commission is considering a special meeting next week to act on the issue if the company doesn't make payment.
