Stephenson maturing as Pacer


 


INDIANAPOLIS — Lance Stephenson dominated the playground basketball courts as a kid growing up in New York.

The Indiana Pacers reserve point-guard’s legend grew while playing for Lincoln High School, where he became the top all-time leading scorer in New York state history.

Because of his natural skills and competitiveness, Stephenson earned the nickname “Born Ready,” which is tattooed on his right shoulder.

But as an NBA rookie last season, he was anything but ready to play.
