An investigation into the on-track death of Kevin Ward Jr. on Aug. 9 at the Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park will continue for at least another two weeks, according to the Ontario County (N.Y.) Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office, with members of the district attorney's office, is continuing to work on the case, investigating an incident in which Columbus (Ind). Sprint Cup driver Tony Stewart struck Ward in a dirt track sprint car race on Aug. 9.
The sheriff's office said it would notify the media and the general public when the investigation concludes.
