COLUMBUS, Ind. — Ross Street, between McKinley and Illinois streets, will close from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. Wednesday while Columbus Signature Academy - Fodrea students and Mayor Kristen Brown take part in International Walk to School Day.
Students from CSA - Lincoln Campus and from Parkside, Richards, Schmitt, Smith and Taylorsville elementary school also will walk or bike to class in other city areas, said Kelli Thompson, director of health services for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. Motorists should use caution.
International Walk to School Day, organized locally by the Safe Routes to School Committee, is intended to raise people's awareness for safer walking and bicycling routes.
