Superheroes, super kids get their day at library

Follow The Republic:

The Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., is joining forces with Sidekick Comics, 1608 Central Ave., to offer an afternoon of epic superhero proportions in the library’s Red Room from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Children ages 4 to 8 are invited to participate in a kryptonite hunt and superhero games, including a laser obstacle course, and they can make a superhero mask and cape from 2 to 3 p.m.

Sidekick’s Dave Christian will be on hand to talk with parents about choosing the best comics for young children.

If you’re 9 to 14 years old, test your comic book knowledge in a round of Superhero Jeopardy and participate in superhero tests of agility, including an obstacle course and speed race, from 3 to 4 p.m. Christian also will offer pointers about writing your own comics.

Enjoy refreshments and get your picture taken with Spiderman and/or Captain America.

The event is free, but registration is required.
