Suspect accused of battering pregnant woman

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus man on probation for battery and criminal confinement is accused of beating a pregnant woman at Briarwood Apartments with two infant children present, police said. Timothy Earl Wilder, Jr., 24, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, criminal confinement, and — as a result of spitting blood on a paramedic — battery by bodily waste on a public servant, all Class D felonies. He’s also been preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
