NORTH VERNON, Ind. — First Christian Church in North Vernon has rescheduled its annual "Sweet Street" festivities for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Consideration of predicted bad weather conditions today prompted the switch, church officials said.
The free festivities will take place in the city and church parking lots, 108 E. Walnut St., the location of the event for the past several years, said event spokeswoman Angie Leeds. In case of substantial rain, the event will be moved inside Solid Rock Café, 148 E. Walnut St., she added.
Candy will be handed out to all children up to sixth grade. Hot dogs, drinks and popcorn also will be available. Adults will have an opportunity to register for door prizes.
