It’s easy to rid yourself of the guilt of indulging in chocolate — especially if you make a note that the Taste of Chocolate fundraiser Feb. 8 benefits programs such as the Reading Is Fundamental program locally for children.
Plus, chocolate has been shown to lower blood pressure and LDL cholesterol.
So what other excuse do you need to simply dive right in?
Would it help to know that perhaps 3,000 other area residents are expected to attend the Columbus Service League’s event with a huge spread of treats for the public at FairOaks Mall? The gathering is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. with enough dark, sweet goodness to make Willy Wonka jealous.
Tables will line nearly the length of the mall, where all types of chocolate (and some non-chocolate) desserts, including pies, cakes, yogurt, cookies and more.
Dessert lovers can opt to take desserts to go or they can sit and enjoy musical entertainment while trying a homemade dessert of choice. Full desserts will be available for those who need something special for their next dinner party.
Tickets are $3 at the event or $2.50 in advance at Gramz Bakery, Viewpoint Bookstore, FairOaks Mall office, Claudia’s Flora Bunda and All Natural Assets.
