Police arrested a 14-year-old Seymour boy Thursday on two counts of attempted murder.
The boy, who police did not identify, is accused of setting a fire Wednesday night on East Fourth Street that left his mother and 10-year-old brother hospitalized, Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said.
"He was after the mom," Abbott said.
The teen was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center at Brownstown, charged with two Class A felony counts of attempted murder and one Class A felony count of residential arson.
Abbott declined to discuss the child's motive in setting the fire.
